Low VOC waterborne epoxy floor coating

Water-based epoxies are used on concrete floors as sealants, primers, and optionally as the complete floor paint itself.

Water-based epoxies usually have low VOC (volatile organic compounds)

Like most solid epoxy floor coatings, waterborne epoxy floor coatings are almost odorless (no worse than latex wall coatings) and offer good chemical and wear resistance.

It has good adhesion and is less affected by UV yellowing than other epoxy resins.

Water-based epoxy coatings are much thinner than single-layer coatings of 100% solid epoxy.

Water-based epoxies have several other advantages

They can be colored;Safe for the environment;Low maintenance; The economy.

As a water-based resin, epoxies are immersed in porous surfaces, such as concrete, before curing, creating a strong bond. This may be a stronger "surface only" bond than the one achieved with solid epoxy flooring, so it makes an excellent primer under solid epoxy.

Non-slip and decorative floors

Waterborne Epoxy Resins Used in Basements Waterborne Epoxy Resins offer a variety of non-slip and/or decorative treatments:

One coat (and sometimes two coats) is usually very thin to maintain the original (non-slip) texture of the concrete

The epoxy coating is also thin enough to use our very fine anti-slip additives (note: in thicker coatings, the anti-slip additives disappear into the coating), resulting in a sandpaper finish

However, the epoxy coating is also thick enough to allow the use of our larger anti-slip additives

It will also accept coloured sand and/or vinyl shards to play on its surface.

application

Waterborne epoxies can be applied with brushes, brooms, nap rollers or textured airbrushes.M50 epoxy resin was used

Waterborne epoxies require two layers of coating. In commercial applications, three coats of coating are recommended.
